Defending with 2v1 overload
Combine attacking momentum with quick decision-making and a 2v1 numerical advantage. Defenders practice defending while outnumbered, delaying the attack to buy time for a teammate to get into position. The drill begins with a defender (red) passing to an attacker (blue). The defender who did not make the pass runs to the corner flag, rounds it, and enters the defensive zone; this defender is not permitted to defend outside the defensive zone. The defender who passed the ball to the attackers initiates the defensive play outside the defensive zone. If the defenders win the ball, play transitions into a counter-attack against the small goals.
