Defensive line - 6v6
Defensive positioning drill where players learn to press and cover, while attackers work on off-the-ball movement and finding gaps between defenders. Mark out a playing area with cones and a halfway line. Each team has four players on their own "half" and two players on the opposite side. The attacking players pass the ball among themselves to create space in the defensive line, aiming to reach one of the attackers positioned by the small goals. Defenders work with one player pressing while the other three cover the space. The ball must be played along the ground. After a goal, the scoring team retains possession. If the ball is intercepted, the team that made the interception goes on the attack. The defending team must transition to mark the two attackers behind them if a pass breaks through the line.
