High-intensity transitions
A high-intensity drill focusing on transitions, reading the game, and quickly winning back possession. Mark out three zones: a play zone (50% of the area), a cover zone (15% of the area), and an outer zone (35% of the area). The team in possession (blue) plays the ball around within the play zone. These three players are free to move within the zone but cannot pass to the fourth player. When the defending team wins the ball, they must quickly try to reach their third player in the outer zone. The three blue players in the play zone must then attempt to regain possession. The blue player in the cover zone has only one task: to block the passing lane for the red team to reach their player in the outer zone.
